UV sterilization provides a sanitary workspace and home, and is an incredibly powerful disinfectant. Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection technology relies on radiation emitted in the wavelength range of 250 nm – 280 nm (UVC) to inactivate pathogens. Cleanos UVC sanitization boxes rely on the same UVC technology to help you disinfect and sanitize items of daily use like mobile phones, laptops, documents, packages, grocery, car keys, masks, etc. The boxes are lightweight and portable, which can be used even on the go!
Our boxes have Aluminum interiors, which are highly UV reflective, to maximize the efficiency of these boxes. Aluminum (Al) is the only material that has a high reflectivity for ultraviolet rays in the wavelength range of 250 nm to 400 nm. A common material used in many other commercial UV disinfection systems is stainless steel. While stainless steel is highly resistive to microbial growth, it can only reflect 20 – 28% of UV light. Two factors are crucial when it comes to disinfection through UVC light. One is distance from the light and the second is time for which an item is exposed to the light. Hence, it would take much longer for an item to get sanitized in a box with stainless steel interiors as compared to Aluminum interiors.
According to lab tests conducted by Cleanos, an item gets disinfected in 20 seconds in a Cleanos sanitization box, which has 11W UVC tube. However, we recommend the use of a wire rack to keep the items on for disinfecting. This way it would get 360° treatment through reflection. Or, you could flip the item and treat it with UV light once again to get best results. The surface exposed to UV light would get disinfected and sanitized. Our timer operated box allows you to choose from 30 seconds to five minutes time to disinfect your items. The larger the item, the more time you should allow for disinfection. Listed below are some materials that reflect UV light along with the percentage of light reflected. It is easy to see why we use etched Aluminum reflectors for our boxes.

The UVC light generated by the tube inside Cleanos disinfection boxes penetrates the outer membrane of viruses, bacteria, mold and even yeasts. This causes modification in the DNA structure of microbes, rendering them unable to reproduce or cause harm, ultimately resulting in death.
UV-C light is an effective solution for sterilization. However, it can penetrate human skin and cause damage to skin and eyes. Hence, we have incorporated door sensors, which switch off the light as soon as the lid is opened, making it safe for the person using it. With increased efficiency and improved safety, we are sure you would find Cleanos UVC sterilization and disinfection boxes a worthy partner for your daily sanitization needs!
